About Us

My family and I moved to the Northern Idaho area in February of 2008, from the Seattle area.  We moved here for the laid back lifestyle, friendly people and to thoroughly enjoy all the outdoor beauty Northern Idaho has to offer.  I have been involved in sports over the course of my life, either playing them or coaching them for 35+ years.  I have played them all at one time or another but as it happens, started focusing on just a couple of sports in my high school days.  Baseball and basketball became my life, going to college on a full-ride scholarship for basketball.  Along the way, I have been part of or participated in many different athletic camps, training centers and recreation facilities that all, in one way or another, benefited my skill levels in the sports I played.   Since arriving here in Northern Idaho,  I have had the privilege of managing the Spirit Lake Mariners (Majors Division) of the Timberlake Little League, going 17-0 in league play this season.  Even though we went undefeated and enjoyed a really fun season, I noticed along the way a real need for the teachings of the games mechanics and fundamentals, along with the lack of speed and overall athleticism of not just some on our team but in most of the teams we competed against.  What our kids need is an “EDGE”, a program that can teach them the proper fundamentals of the sports they play and a program that will push their muscles and motor-skills.  The Edge programs focus on agility drills that will improve any athletes overall speed and quickness, hand to eye coordination, balance, flexibility and strength.  When you combine both the mechanics / fundamentals program and the agility programs, the athlete will have that “EDGE” they need to not only be competitive but to be successful in the sports they are playing.

I am the first to admit that we as parents cannot make our young men and women have the same work ethic, focus and desire that we may have had when we were kids. However, I can tell you that if we encourage them to give this program a chance, they will not only be rewarded with greater success in whatever sports they choose, it will carry over into their adult life as well.  A life full of self-confidence, great work ethic and fond memories of their youth and teenage years.  What a way to go into that big, scary world.

See you at the gym!
